We provide evidence-based support for our clients to help them overcome any mental health challenges and enable them to be the very best version of themselves that they can possibly be. Our team works with all age ranges starting with very young children, young people, adults and couples who may need our support.

Dr Helen Fairchild
Dr Helen Fairchild is an experienced Clinical Psychologist who has worked with children, young people and families for 20 years. She worked in the NHS and charity sector before coming to The Old Rectory Clinic. Helen is trained to help with problems such as depression, low self-esteem, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic, social anxiety, poor sleep, self-harm, anger and behavioural difficulties. She predominantly uses a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) model, but also uses parenting and other approaches depending on the needs of the family.

Dr Louise Tarrant
I am an experienced Clinical Psychologist who provides specialist psychological assessments and therapy for adults who have distressing mental or physical health symptoms. I have additional specific expertise in working with adults who are struggling with Chronic Pain.

Mel Phillips
I have over 12 years' experience of working in NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services as a Senior CAMHS Mental Health Specialist with Children and Young People aged between 5 - 18 years, presenting with wide-ranging emotional and behavioural difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, OCD, as well as within specialist eating disorders and family therapy clinics. I have also worked within specialist CAMHS services specialising in Looked After and Adopted Children and Young People mental health. I am also a qualified Child EMDR Therapist.

Peter - The Peterson Practice
I am an experienced Stress and Anxiety Specialist, supporting adults and young people aged 16 and above. Alongside my professional training in mental health and emotional wellbeing, I bring a wealth of life experience that enables me to connect with and support individuals as they navigate life's challenges. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), ADHD, autism, panic attacks, social anxiety, sleep difficulties, self-harm, anger management, and performance-related issues.

I specialise in creating a warm, welcoming, safe, secure and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings experiences and emotions at their own pace.

Tracy Sheppard
I’m an Integrative Therapist who welcomes Adults and Children (aged 9 years +) for Counselling.
Counselling for Adults: Sometimes life’s twists and turns can stop us in our tracks, or we recognise we feel uncomfortable or misaligned. Therapy can help to explore and smooth out our inner selves.
Counselling for Children aged 9+, Tweens, Teens & Young Adults: If you are concerned about a young person navigating challenges, worries, or distress it can be hard to know how to help. Therapy can be a place to make sense of their upsets and find some calm.

Rue Smith
Rue is an experienced integrative counsellor working primarily with a person-centred approach to counselling whilst drawing from other theories and approaches to suit the clients needs, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis (TA).

Dr Leanne M Hayward
I am a private consultant psychiatrist, specialising in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions affecting adults (18+), including Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, OCD, PTSD, Psychosis, Perinatal mental health conditions, and workplace mental health. I am a UK-trained medical doctor, with over 20 years’ experience working in and leading NHS Mental Health services. I am an accredited specialist regulated by the General Medical Council, UK and a trained Executive Coach.

Lucy Sanderson
I am a BACP registered Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist working with both adults and children from age 9 upwards. I am warm and approachable and strive to provide a safe, non-judgemental, and confidential space for you to explore anything that you wish to talk about. My core modalility is person-centred; however I am trained to integrate other psychological approaches into our work together. This may mean the incorporation of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as the use of Creative and Symbolic strategies.

The Autism Service is a multi-disciplinary private team offering face-to-face appointments, with the outcome being a high-quality, reliable Autism, ADHD and Combined assessments for children, young people and adults that is recognised by organisations which are important to you.

Dr Carole Francis-Smith
Carole is an experienced Counselling Psychologist with a wide range of experience and training. She works with adults (18+) who struggle with anxiety, depression, low mood, loss, bereavement, relationship difficulties, making and adjusting to changes in their life, work related stress, burnout/rust out and more complex issues. She offers tailored support to adults across their life span and with individuals who struggle with high self-critical thinking and shame.

Vicki Johnstone
I am Vicki (she/her) a senior practitioner with 20 years of clinical experience within private, charitable, voluntary, judicial, health and social care sectors. I'm skilled at working with people throughout their lives; children and young adults currently make up most of my caseload, but I'm more than happy to work with people through adulthood too.

With a background in the mental health sector since 2009, I've worked across a range of settings including private practice, employee assistance programms (EAPs) and voluntary organisations. I bring a grounded, compassionate approach to my work, aiming to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and able to explore the challenges you're facing.
