I have over 12 years' experience of working in NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services as a Senior CAMHS Mental Health Specialist with Children and Young People aged between 5 - 18 years, presenting with wide-ranging emotional and behavioural difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, OCD, as well as within specialist eating disorders and family therapy clinics. I have also worked within specialist CAMHS services specialising in Looked After and Adopted Children and Young People mental health. I am also a qualified Child EMDR Therapist. My approach is integrative, incorporating age-appropriate CBT as well as creativity, nature-based interaction and mindfulness where helpful. I am also qualified in ADOS 2 autism assessment protocol and have extensive experience of supporting children and young people identified with autism spectrum condition and other neurodiverse conditions.
I accept private health insurance payments and I am registered with Aviva and AXA .
EMDR:
I offer therapeutic support for children and young people and adults with wide-ranging emotional and behavioural difficulties, in particular, those who are struggling with symptoms of low mood, anxiety difficulties, as well as symptoms of trauma. An indication that someone may be struggling with symptoms of trauma can include reactive behaviours, hyper vigilance, anxiety and other mood difficulties, nightmares and flashbacks or avoidance of reminders.
Family Work and Parent Consultations:
I offer therapy sessions for families who may be seeking support to enhance understanding and more positive relationships between family members for wide ranging reasons, including major life events such as illness, bereavement and coming to terms with family breakdown. I also offer parent consultation appointments, lasting 60 minutes, for parents who are concerned about how best to support their young person who is struggling with their well-being, but who does not wish to engage in therapy, or otherwise are wondering what support might be most helpful.
